The C-Class Sports Coupé provides support in dicey situations. Its active safety systems include the Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Brake Assist (BAS). Together they help you in critical driving situations.

If the car is in danger of skidding, ESP® applies the appropriate braking force to individual wheels and adjusts the engine output. ABS ensures that the vehicle remains steerable during emergency braking. BAS recognises emergency braking by the speed with which you apply the brake and instantly builds up the maximum braking force, thereby helping to reduce the stopping distance.

In addition, strong light provides excellent safety: bi-xenon headlamps are brighter than conventional halogen headlamps and improve visibility both directly in front of the vehicle and at a distance. When travelling at low speed and turning off into a driveway, for example, or parking, the additional cornering light function illuminates the road more effectively by activating either the left or right fog lamp.

The bi-xenon equipment also includes a headlamp cleaning system and automatic headlamp range adjustment. Bi-xenon headlamps with the cornering light function are optional for the C-Class Sports Coupé (cornering light function not available in conjunction with EVOLUTION AMG sports package).
